“When I first saw him I thought to myself, this guy must have been doing this for years.”
-Gladys Simon (Comic Strip Live "Gladys Comedy Room")
Family and Early Life
Christopher Kenneth Williams made his first personal appearance at a Philadelphia hospital over 29 years ago. He was also fashionably late, arriving two minutes after his twin brother. Today, he still likes to make a grand entrance! As a Black man growing up in a middle class area of Cherry Hill, NJ, he had it real tough. All of those quality home cooked meals, good clothes, and safe neighborhoods can take their toll on a brotha in the suburbs. Having moved beyond those miserable comforts of his middle class childhood, they are now merely the butt of his jokes.
Chris went to high school in the east side section of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He quickly became very well liked amongst his peers and his community because of his jokes, charm and ability to stand out. Later he found himself a college student at a historically black college, Delaware State University where he graduated with a Bachelors in Mass Communications.
Comedy Is His True Calling
A few years ago, long time friend and actress Anni Weisband noticed his comedy ability, and invited him to do stand-up at a new comedy club in New York City for her group "True/False Theatre." Nevertheless, Chris stood out to friends and spectators with a ”shocking” fifteen minute set. Now a smooth stand-up performer with precision delivery, Chris commands the stage like a 20 year vet on the comic circuit. Since his first big show at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, NJ some time ago, Chris has been on a hot streak by performing regularly at the Taj Mahal, Comic Strip Live (NYC), Voltage Lounge, Aloft Hotel in Mount Laurel, as well as hosting private and corporate events.
Chris' hardwork, dedication and original hilarious material sparks the attention of audiences of all demographics wherever he performs. Optimistic about his comedic future and brainstorming his next big laugh, Chris Williams is the next big comic superstar.
Who would have thought that a guy who is often mistaken as Carlton Banks could actually be funny?
